Case study — European Part-145 MRO

One system of record for airworthiness — not nine spreadsheets

An independent European MRO serving nine operators replaced fragmented, spreadsheet-based maintenance records with OASES — and cut compliance admin by almost two thirds inside a year.

  • ✓Maintenance programmes, technical records and compliance in one database
  • ✓Airworthiness directive and service bulletin tracking built in
  • ✓Audit-ready fleet and component status on demand, not next week

The case study

From a paper trail to real-time airworthiness

An independent European Part-145 organisation, serving nine operators from two stations with around 100 staff, had doubled its contract base in four years — and outgrown the systems it started with.

The challenge

Records, component life tracking and compliance documentation sat across spreadsheets, shared drives and paper packs. Confirming one component’s status took three people and half a morning, and two near-misses on expiring life-limited parts made the risk plain to the board.

Choosing OASES

The MRO evaluated three platforms and chose OASES for its purpose-built Part-145 and CAMO coverage, built-in airworthiness directive and service bulletin tracking, and a service-led approach that gave a 100-person team the attention of a flag carrier.

Going live

A nineteen-week phased rollout migrated eleven years of legacy records and configured maintenance programmes to the organisation’s own Part-145 procedures. Six weeks of parallel running validated every output before the spreadsheets were retired.

Looking ahead

With one system of record in place, the MRO is bidding for base maintenance work it could not have supported before — and is exploring OASES Insights reporting and mobile task sign-off across both stations.

“

Before OASES, a component query took half a morning and three people. Now it is one screen — and when an auditor walks in, we are ready that day.

Common questions

How long does implementation take?

It depends on scope and data volume. The MRO in this case study went live in nineteen weeks, including eleven years of record migration, configuration and training.

Will it fit our existing Part-145 procedures?

OASES is configured to your approved procedures rather than the other way round — maintenance programmes, approval limits and sign-off rules are all mapped during implementation.

Can we migrate historical records?

Yes. Migration and validation of legacy records is a standard part of the implementation, with a parallel-running period before the old system is retired.

How much training does the team need?

Structured training is delivered to planners, engineers and quality staff before go-live, with a parallel-running period to build confidence.

Is OASES suitable for a smaller organisation?

Yes. OASES is used by organisations from around a hundred people up to major carriers, with the same service model applied at every size.

Does it work across multiple stations?

OASES is accessible on any device, and every station works to the same records as the main base.
